Looking back at 2025

A new chapter begins in the heart of carriage driving tradition.

A year of transition and tradition

2024 and 2025 marked a powerful new beginning for the Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving. With a new committee at the helm, the event embraced a fresh vision while building on the strong foundations established by the dedicated teams that came before.

We are deeply grateful to the former committee whose tireless work helped shape this iconic event over the years. Their commitment ensured Sandringham remained a beloved fixture in the driving trials calendar — honouring the legacy of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, whose passion brought competitive carriage driving to the estate.

A royal connection strengthened

We were honoured to welcome HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh as our President, further deepening the event’s royal ties. Her support reflects Sandringham’s continuing role in upholding and celebrating the heritage of equestrian sport in the UK.

A special partnership

A highlight of the year was our inspiring collaboration with the Windsor Park Equestrian Club — a group originally founded by the late Duke at Windsor Great Park. This partnership brought an added layer of tradition and connection to the event, celebrating shared values of sport, community, and classical horsemanship.

Looking ahead to 2026

With the success of 2025 behind us, the future looks brighter than ever. The committee is already hard at work preparing for Sandringham 2026, where the intention is to provide a more focused, more inclusive event providing every competitor, steward, volunteer and spectator with a great experience.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
